Kara Goucher at Niketown

On April 16th 2011 Kara Goucher did a meet and greet and question answer period to promote her new book. Before the event I was very pumped to have a chance to meet one of the best female distance runner at this time. When we were allowed to enter into Niketown it was every person for themselves to get a seat to be able to see and hear Kara speak. When Kara entered the room there was a loud rumble of the crowd. Kara showed up in a pair of Nike sneakers, jeans, Nike t-shirt, and white hoody and looked very comfortable to be around her fans. To answer one question that is on a lot of the guys minds. Yes she is just as attractive in person as she is in runners world. I was very disappointed in the host of the interview some "special" person for Nike New York. I really thought the questions that were asked were softball questions. One question was are you nervous. What the hell kind of question is that? I think a lot of fans wanted to know about training with a new child, what kind of training did you do? After the 6-10 answer question period then it was time for Kara to meet her fans and sign some autographs of books, magazines, or anything you wanted signed. You would think that Nike would have this part down to a science, but that was a wrong assumption. Fans were cutting each other in line, trying to get pictures with Kara, and trying to get more then 1 item signed. I was very pleased to get my latest issue of Runners World signed. Overall I enjoyed myself, but expected more from Nike on organization and the interviewer.
