This week was the first real nice week weather wise in Boston, and that means running outside! I am very excited to start the spring/summer running has started. This is personally my favorite time to run during the year because I can run in shorts and a t-shirt, and a lot of the college students have left for the summer which in turn makes more sidewalk space for me to run. This Sunday I will be running in the Boston Run to Remember half marathon.

Running my life
Everyday I talk with my friend Dan at work (he is a non runner, but a great friend), and everyday he asks me "what are you doing tonight", and I say how many miles I have to do that particular night. He said something that puzzled me "why does running run your life?" I have been on a couple of runs since that statement. Is it bad that running runs my life? You think the obvious answer to this question would be no, but it has made me think about some things. My wife Kimberly has said things along the same lines to me a couple of times. I love running it is my time to spend with myself think sometimes talk to myself (not in a crazy way), and I have a lot of energy that I need to expel or no one will want to be around me, but I am a very hyper focused human being, so once this object is in my head that is all I can think of. Don't think for a moment that I am going to quit running or anything like that. I just wanted to look at another persons point of view, or as I would like to say run in another person's shoes.

Western New York and losing the lottery
Hello everyone spring is upon us which means more running which means more posts. I do not know about you, but that is some wonderful math there. This week I was in Olean NY which is about a hour and half drive from Buffalo. The temperature was perfect for running, but due to some bad weather I was forced to do most of my runs this week inside. The only day I did get to run outside was awesome! I was able to do a 5 mils of back roads running surrounded by the hills of western New York which are now starting to sprout into a wonderful shade of green. Also on April 27 2011 was the day to find out if you were choosen for for the New York City marathon. I was not picked this year which was kind of sad, but there is always next year. Have a great weekend and a great run.
